Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge believes it is now or never if Harry Kane wants to seal a move to Manchester City.
The England captain has grown frustrated with a lack of silverware at Tottenham Hotspur and publicly confirmed his desire to leave the club before the transfer window shuts.
City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed his intentions to clinch Kane’s signature ahead of next week’s deadline, with reports suggesting the Premier League title holders will make their final bid in the coming days.
Last season’s top-flight Golden Boot winner has already accused Spurs chairman Daniel Levy of broken promises after turning down a £125million bid from City earlier this month.
Kane, who was not even included in Spurs’ matchday squad for the Premier League season opener against City or the Europa Conference League defeat to Pacos de Ferreira, made his first appearance of the season as he climbed off the bench during the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
Bridge reckons City will not return for Kane, 28, if they fail with their next move.
He told The Transfer Tavern: “This is his last chance saloon with Manchester City. I don’t think they’ll come in again.
“He’ll be 29 next year and might have had another couple of ankle injuries. I don’t think City are going to go back in for him then.
“I genuinely think it’s now or never and I think his team know that.”
