Leeds United have continued to see their midfield monster Tyler Adams touted with a move away from Elland Road…
What’s the latest?
As per transfer insider Dean Jones, Manchester United will not lure the American just yet, but an exit could be on the cards after this season.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “A move to Manchester United is not on at the moment. That’s not one that is active at all.
“From what I’m told, he’s going to see out the season and probably see what lands after that point.
“But it won’t surprise me at all to see him being linked with some big moves at the end of the season.”
Devastating blow
It seems that only now is the rest of the world beginning to see what fans of the Yorkshire outfit have known for half a season: Adams is a brilliant midfielder.
Signed in the summer for £20m, he was handed the thankless task of replacing fan favourite Kalvin Phillips as an industrious but classy option in the engine room.
However, the 23-year-old has gone on to feature in all of their Premier League games this season, proving a stalwart alongside Marc Roca.
He is averaging a 6.92 average rating, underpinned by his 1.2 key passes and sensational 4.0 tackles per game, via Sofascore.
Then, for his country, he marks a mild increase in rating to 7.10 as he has helped guide them through the group stages ahead of Iran and Wales, albeit ultimately falling to the Netherlands in the round of 16 this afternoon.
Seemingly taking on more responsibility as one of the bigger names for the USA, his pass accuracy shoots up to 90% a game whilst maintaining a similarly impressive 2.8 tackles per game.
These performances have earned widespread praise, with Danny Murphy noting after their all-important win over the Iranians: “Tyler Adams, everywhere, tireless performance from him.”
As aforementioned, this is not a new trend for the youngster who is inundated with talent and maturity beyond his years.
To lose him would be a cruel sucker punch after seemingly finding the perfect Phillips replacement and would be a devastating blow for Jesse Marsch, sending the 48-year-old back to square one.
