Sometimes in football, things just seem to click at certain times and Chelsea have certainly found that this season. Whilst they didn’t have a Premier League fixture yesterday, the Blues enjoyed a perfect day in their eyes.Facing Hull City later today, with Arsenal also due to play, the rest of the top-six all dropped points in their Saturday fixtures- giving Chelsea the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League, whilst the Gunners can rise to second.Manchester United were held by Stoke, whilst Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur shared the points in a 2-2 draw, but the surprise result was certainly at Anfield- where Swansea City, entering the game rock-bottom of the Premier League, defeated Liverpool 3-2.
The results mean that Chelsea can extend their advantage over their top-six rivals with a victory against Hull tomorrow, potentially putting them nine-points clear over their closest competitors- if Arsenal fail to win their clash with Burnley.
