Tottenham’s 15/16 campaign was a successful one, but the need for more goal-scoring options from midfield is obvious.
Harry Kane led the Premier League goal charts with 25 goals, and Dele Alli asserted himself as one of the league’s best midfielders.
Yet Spurs are about one or two more quality attackers away from winning the Premier League.
The core is there, and only a few gaps need filling for Mauricio Pochettino. As always, the Euros provides dozens of quality players, but which ones should Spurs be looking for?
Let’s take a look at the midfielders from the Euros that would mesh well with Tottenham’s young core.
These are the FIVE players who would fit in well…
Jordan Henderson
The Liverpool captain is only 25-years-old with plenty of skill in the middle of the field, which would bolster a dangerous Tottenham attack.
Jack Wilshere
Wilshere battled injury this season, but when the Englishman is on the pitch, he can dominate.
The crafty midfielder would fit in nicely with young stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Álvaro Morata
The Juventus attacker is excellent in the offensive third, helping the The Old Lady win an Italian League title this season.
He scored seven goals and contributed seven assists with Juventus. Spurs need another formidable goal scorer alongside Harry Kane, and Morata could take the pressure off the Premier League golden boot winner.
Kevin De Bruyne
De Bruyne’s seven goals and nine assists for Manchester City were impressive, but not entirely indicative of the Belgian’s overall presence.
He is one of the best in the world at creating goal scoring opportunities, which would translate to even more Harry Kane goals if Tottenham arranged the transfer.
Leroy Sané
Germany’s next brilliant midfielder – Sané’s finesse, endurance and tactical skill separate him as one of the top players U20 players in the world.
He would just be another budding star in Tottenham’s attack.
