New Zealand women will play 10 one-day internationals and the first-ever women’s Twenty20 in the country as part of their schedule for 2007-08.They will host England and Australia between February and March 2008 for five ODIs each, in preparation for the World Cup in 2009.”The season provides a stern test for the White Ferns in the build up to the 2009 women’s World Cup in Australia,” said Steve Jenkin, the New Zealand coach.England last toured New Zealand for a bilateral one-day series in November 2000 and lost all three matches. Australia will return the visit, which includes a Twenty20 ahead of the ODIs.”Although we know both sides [Australia and England] well, the level of competition is guaranteed to be of the highest standard and an exciting prospect for players, supporters and all involved,” Jenkins said.”After the 2007-08 summer, we will have a strong indication of our progress as we seek to regain the World Cup.”All matches will be played at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln University.
